Reindeer Feeding Adventure with a Sami Family in Finland
Experience the unique culture of the Skolt Sami people on this unforgettable journey from Kirkenes to Finland. Travel through stunning Arctic landscapes, meet a Sami family who farms reindeer, and immerse yourself in this traditional way of life.
Tour Highlights:
- Scenic Drive: Start with a picturesque drive along Munkefjord, including a photo stop to admire the breathtaking views. After about an hour, we cross the border into Finland to meet the Skolt Sami family.
- Reindeer Feeding: Ride a snowmobile (20 minutes) into the Finnish winter forest to the feeding area, where the herd gathers. Join the Sami family and help feed the reindeer, gaining hands-on experience of this daily tradition.
- Cultural Insight: Learn about Sami traditions, their connection to the land, and the role of reindeer in their culture.
- Warm Up by the Fire: Relax in a cozy Lavo tent with a warm drink (coffee or tea) by the fire. Optionally, enjoy a traditional meal of reindeer soup with bread (additional cost).
